Minnesota Ag News Headlines DNR Seeks Comments on Lawndale Creek Habitat Enhancement Project Minnesota Ag Connection - 11/20/2009 The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is accepting public comments through Dec. 16 on an Environmental Assessment Worksheet that was prepared for a project to restore a portion of Lawndale Creek in Atherton Township, Wilkin County, Minn. The worksheet evaluates the environmental effects from a DNR proposal to convert the abandoned State Ditch 14 into 18,566 feet of meandered stream channel with instream features to improve habitat for trout and cold-water organisms in Lawndale Creek. A copy of the EAW is available online. Additional copies may be requested by calling 651-259-5156. Public comments on the EAW will be accepted during the 30-day public review period from Nov.16 to Dec.16.
