North Dakota Ag News Headlines Pedersen Named Communicator of the Year North Dakota Ag Connection - 10/20/2008 Carl Pedersen, North Dakota State University Extension Service energy educator, is the North Dakota Association for Communication Excellence 2008 communicator of the year. The award recognizes an individual who has displayed exceptional expertise and professionalism in delivering educational programs and information to the public through several types of media. The association and NDSU Agriculture Communication staff selected Pedersen for the honor. He is developing statewide educational and informational programs on the efficient use of energy in residential buildings, and small commercial and agricultural operations. The goal of these efforts is to increase North Dakota's awareness of the opportunities to save financial and natural resources through the efficient use of energy. Prior to coming to NDSU, Pedersen worked in the electrical generation and distribution industry, commercial and residential construction, and secondary education. He earned bachelor of science degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, in 1991, and Southwest Minnesota State University in 2005. A luncheon will be held in Pedersen's honor at noon Nov. 3 in the NDSU Memorial Union's Hidatsa Room. Bonnie Lund, senior communications representative at Xcel Energy in Fargo, will be the featured speaker. The cost of the luncheon is $8 per person. Make checks payable to ACE.
