Alice in Dairyland has a strong history in Wisconsin. Today, as Wisconsin's agricultural ambassador, she is a public relations professional whose role ranges from educating people to buy local Wisconsin agriculture products to helping students learn to eat right.

"Serving as Wisconsin's Agricultural Ambassador has allowed me to share the story of Wisconsin's diverse agriculture industry to a multitude of various audiences across the state, which broadened my view and deepened my appreciation for the industry," said Wisconsin's 70th Alice in Dairyland Crystal Siemers-Peterman. "If you have passion and excitement for agriculture, education, and communications, this position is a great opportunity to take those enthusiasms to the next level and to make long-lasting career connections in the industry."

The woman selected will travel approximately 40,000 miles as a spokesperson for Wisconsin's food, fiber, and natural resources industry. She has the duty of presenting hundreds of speeches, media interviews, and educational presentations throughout the year.

Knowledge or experience in planning and executing public relations or marketing campaigns is a plus. The preferred candidate will also have the ability to discuss Wisconsin's agricultural products and issues facing agriculture in both rural and urban environments. Public speaking skills are essential to the position.

The annual salary is $45,000, plus travel expenses and individual health insurance reimbursement. For more information, call 608-224-5115. Applications are due on February 1.

The 2018 Alice in Dairyland Finals will be held May 17-19 in Adams.
