Volunteers Harvesting Carrots for Donation to Ohio Food Banks

Volunteers are harvesting carrots for donation to Ohio Food banks today at the Tom O'Neill Farm near Swanton, Ohio, reports the Ohio Farm Bureau.
An estimated 200,000 pounds of fresh carrots will be mechanically harvested and hand-packaged by volunteers from local county Farm Bureaus, chambers of commerce, home-school students, Soil and
Water Conservation District personnel and others. The carrots will be donated to 12 food banks around Ohio that are affiliated with the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Food Banks.
The harvesting takes place today from about 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
