USAgNet - 01/16/2024

At the 2024 Superior Livestock Bellringer Sale in Oklahoma City, President Danny Jones shared insights into the cattle industry's performance in 2023 and what lies ahead in 2024.

Jones celebrated this year's Bellringer Sale, which featured about 110,000 cattle. Moreover, he highlighted that 2023 marked the third consecutive year of substantial growth for Superior Livestock, with an impressive increase of 205,000 cattle sales.

Superior Livestock not only witnessed a surge in cattle sellers and buyers embracing online sales but also saw significant growth in value-added programs. Jones emphasized the evolution of these programs from a niche market into a significant industry segment.

According to Jones, these programs have not only attracted more buyers but have also been endorsed by end users like feedlots and packers. This support ensures that buyers and sellers benefit from these value-added initiatives.

Jones underscored the importance of proper cattle handling, from vaccines to overall care, and acknowledged ranchers for their dedication to responsible practices. He noted that ranchers take pride in their work and welcome recognition for their contributions.

Looking ahead to 2024, Jones expressed optimism about another year of growth for Superior Livestock. He emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting various methods of cattle marketing and its involvement in every aspect of the cattle marketing process.

As the cattle industry continues to evolve and adapt to changing market dynamics, Superior Livestock remains dedicated to facilitating successful transactions for both buyers and sellers.
